I can be the grumpiest human, and after delving into a fiction for a brief time, I somehow emerge ready to be a kind human again.
Hi! I’m Rebecca, lover of Jesus, my hubby, good hot tea and great conversations! I claim a little town in western North Carolina as my home, but Texas has stolen my country-girl heart.
All in Books
I can be the grumpiest human, and after delving into a fiction for a brief time, I somehow emerge ready to be a kind human again.
It was the kind of morning that makes me want to melt into a puddle and disappear (Wicked Witch of the West style, but make it tired mom.)
Writing here brings me great joy, so that’s what I’m doing at this exact moment in my disaster of a kitchen while I can’t smell a thing in my tiny window before baby wails recall me to the rocking chair.
These moments are an opportunity to ask ourselves, “What do I love? What do I want? What do I think life should look like right now? How can I chase the things that bring myself and others joy?”
… and yet somehow it feels that I accomplished nothing.
They don’t have to be complex to be meaningful. They can be so simple!
Our highs were in the 50s and our lows were in the 30s! Such a great weekend for extended snuggles under blankets, reading, and fires!
But there’s something sweet about prepping food to collectively bring to the table and share with each other.
I cut this year’s reading goal in half…
The winter months are typically a welcome reprieve from the hot Texas summers for this non-native.
Today I'm sharing my favorite reads from 2017. I hope you'll find a few ideas here for books to add to your 2018 TBR lists and will share your own favorite reads as well!
I stood at that old hardwood countertop in the big room filled with books, comfy chairs, and the mountain light and signed my name in cursive to the back of the card.
This month's reading choices were based on things that either I've been wanting to read for quite a while, or books that came highly recommended.
These books are all page-turners in their own right. I found them to be intriguing, thought provoking, life-changing, and challenging
When I started reading 100 pages a day at the beginning of the year in effort to keep my sanity during a crazy season of life, I had absolutely no idea where I would end up.
The summers are so hot here, that I look forward to getting outside more as fall bears cooler weather. I also look forward to long Saturday morning dates with my hubby, hot apple cider, and good books! But until those Saturdays arrive, I will continue to enjoy my evening reads by/in the pool!
For this month's post of reads, I am linking up with Modern Mrs. Darcy for her Quick Lit. Check out what she's been reading as well as what books other bloggers are enjoying!
